Why is this fun?

I know this term is used all the time in gaming, when you've been killed by something and you never had a chance, but damn, it's still disturbing to here my eight-year-old nephew say the phrase:

"He raped me four times!!!"

I'd argue that the term is used like this because gaming is dominated by men, but all the girls I play with use it too. I think I've used it myself. I'm torn about what I think about the use of the term this way.

And I know I abused the word "term" in the post, but it's hard to form sentences when the eight-year-old is still chattering into your ear.

He's also fond of the term "filthy beggar". He's used it six times since I started typing this post.

It's hot today, at least in the house. It's actually kinda cool outside. If only I had something to DO out there, I'd go and be in tuned with nature or something.

So my niece Lacey has a boyfriend. She's ten, so I doubt that means anything, but you never know with kids these days. Her cousin Trent is nearly nine and he told my sister not to worry because "he already talked to him" for her. LOL

Dad's outside spreading mulch and refuses any help offered. Corbin's outside with him "supervising" and trying to do half of it for him. Corbin doesn't take no for an answer, so they'll probably be at it for a while. Dad's all flushed, panting, and red, so hopefully he caves before he gives himself a heart attack.

It's nothing new that I have poor circulation, but I woke up at 4 in the morning in MASSIVE pain because apparently I rolled onto my arm and cut the circulation off to it somehow. It hurt for a while and it's still kinda numb in a rather strange way. Which means it's better now, but damn it was pretty scary to wake up to that. I could hardly move it and it hurt like hell to do it.

Megan's made it into the JET program! I'm massively excited for her and sad at the same time. I really wanted to do that, but I doubt I can get in, more so with this large gap of being unemployed that I'm sitting on. I'll just have to live vicariously through her.

Notes: Set in the_complex_au, but following it isn't necessary, I don't think. This is obviously AU in which Marui owns Jackal.
Notes 2: This isn't very long either, but it sets up the character dynamics. I named the Marui twins, and I don't think there are canon names for them anywhere.

First, thanks to Tan for accidentally making me feel better by letting me talk fandom at her. I'm much calmer now after what happen below:

Gundam Wing, the dub, because Lacey can't read subtitles fast enough and not miss the visuals, and she can multitask without losing what's going on:

"I think the soldiers we randomly gathered from other places were no match for those mobile suits!"

. . . .

And to make it better, it came AFTER everyone else was dead.

I don't even think we can call this hindsight. This should have been a DUH before anyone opened fire.

On a side note: Sally Po made the first justice rant. It's in episode 12 and it's TO Wufei. I think I know who to blame for them now. Wufei did start all that weakness nonsense, though he was talking about himself. Way to go fandom, for not paying attention. Wufei calls Sally weak, and then ten minutes later, reveals that he did it to put them on the same level, because Wufei feels weak. And people use this conversation to claim he's sexist. They've missed the point entirely.

And Alex and Mueller? LOL. Lacey dug their glasses though. They were kinda nifty.

And Kushrenda's speech on religion still amuses me to no end.

(P.S. Lacey says I love her. Who told her?! LOL. We've been bonding over anime, and it just randomly occurred to her again.)
